A recent Wall Street Journal article called attention to high 401(k) fees, a theme that has drawn increasing coverage in the financial media since the government required 401(k) plans to disclose previously hidden fee arrangements last year. The article mentions financial planning software that evaluates fees. The Journal quotes one expert who says high 401(k) fees are “a huge problem that nobody talks about. The people who actually use [the software] are, honestly, kind of freaked out.” We’ve been saying this for a while, but it often doesn’t take fancy software to tell that most plans overcharge.
At O’Brien Greene we offer a 401(k) plan that cuts out layers of fees and also provides substantially more service than industry standard plans. Read more about our 401(k) plans here.
